Cape Point
 One of the most scenic drives in South Africa is to Cape Point within the Cape Peninsula National Park. In the reserve there are many species of birds and animals found nowhere else in the world. Perched on the tip of the Cape Peninsula, the treacherous cliffs form the most southwestern point of Africa.
Here, the warm Indian Ocean meets the cold Atlantic in breathtaking splendor.
Catch a lift up to the lighthouse on a funicular, or walk up the myriad steps to what feels like the top of the world. There is a restaurant, take-away and gift shop, and lots of picnic spots. Beware of the baboons roaming the area. Although their antics are great to photograph, they are quite aggressive and prone to snatching food, bags and photographic equipment if left unattended.
Fish Hoek
Fish Hoek is nestled cozily between two mountains and two oceans along the False Bay coast. Many guesthouses line the serene coast, which is famous for its magnificent sea views. The beach is well known for its glorious white sand and aquatic activities such as swimming, snorkeling, surfing and sailing. There are also great facilities for Hobie Cat sailing. From July to October, Fish Hoek is a great place to watch whales frolic around close to shore.
Camps Bay
Camps Bay is one of Cape Town's most popular holiday destinations and “the place to be seen”. Palm trees line the beachfront packed with beautiful people having long, lazy lunches or sipping colorful cocktails. The four sparkling white beaches of Clifton are interlinked by giant granite boulders. The most popular is the sheltered 4th beach, where bronzed people soak up the sun and spend the day playing volleyball, frisbee or strolling around. The water is freezing, and a (sometimes not so) great contrast to a warm, sun drenched body.

Hout Bay
Set in the bay behind Table Mountain is Hout Bay (Wood Bay). This beautiful valley, surrounded by protective mountains, got its name from supplying timber for ship building and repairs. Hout Bay, a must on your Cape Town scenic drives list, is a working harbor, and has managed to retain its air of rustic charm. The busy harbor is home to many tuna and crayfishing fleets, and an excellent place to enjoy freshly caught fish and chips.
Chapman's Peak Drive
Chapman's Peak Drive is one of the most scenic drives not only in Cape Town, but in the world. Hugging the curves of the mountain, the winding road has a sheer drop to the sea. Chapman's Peak Drive offers plenty of awe inspiring viewpoints for photos or a picnic.
Ou Kaapse Weg
Ou Kaapse Weg is a breathtaking route across a mountain range that forms the backbone of the Cape Peninsula National Park. This mountain pass, built in the early 1970's, runs between Noordhoek and Tokai. Experience 10 kilometres of dazzling sea and mountain views.
Boulders Beach
Boulders Beach is an area of coves and large boulders, home to a couple hundred Jackass Penguins. The area is a national park and, for a small fee, visitors are allowed to go to the beach and sit among them. Most penguins are content to mingle amidst the sunbathers and the inquisitive visitors - some nesting, others bathing, grooming, or just soaking up the sun. Although they are wild, they are quite used to people and love posing for pictures with tourists to South Africa.
